Titan Publishing Group, the UK’s leading publisher of licensed film, TV and gaming entertainment titles, are currently recruiting for a Desk Editor.
The main purpose of your role will be to support the editors in the fiction department preparing books for publication. You will assist with all editorial activities, including text editing, cover briefing, scheduling, coordination of administration paper work, preparing files for production, liaising with various departments (editorial, production, publicity, marketing, subsidiary rights and sales) and compiling initial reports on submitted materials.
Attention to detail, schedule management, and the ability to work to multiple deadlines are key. Excellent proofreading skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, with 1-2 years’ experience in trade fiction publishing.
The candidate must have superior written and communication skills along with strong computer skills, including InDesign, Word and Excel.
You must be well organized and able to set priorities under pressure.
An interest and knowledge of genre fiction is essential.
